Alejandra Arias-Stella, Co-founder of Llamapack
Introduction
Llamapack was created to include the Cusqueñan community members of the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the local tourism economy by using llamas as pack animals on tours offered by travel agencies. Its goal is the protection of the Andean ecosystem through various programs that promote inclusion and environmental care.
“Two families decided to use llamas as pack animals, and soon more people joined, discovering that they could generate income beyond tourism.”
