The Archaeological Zone

Located on the coast of the Chicama Valley, 60 km north of the city of Trujillo (La Libertad region), the El Brujo Archaeological Complex spans over 114 hectares. It holds a wide range of material evidence of human occupation over the course of 14 000 years, a feature that makes it a unique heritage site in Peru.

The On-Site Museum

Inaugurated in 2009, the El Brujo On-Site Museum features seven exhibition halls showcasing part of the cultural heritage recovered during excavations at the archaeological complex. Hall 6 is dedicated to displaying the mummified body of the Lady of Cao along with a selection of objects found in her tomb.
