Cash Transfers for Peruvian Vulnerable Populations

Cash Transfers for Peruvian Vulnerable Populations

More than 3,500 families in 10 regions were directly benefited from the campaign “We are Together, against COVID19”.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Wiese Foundation, ADRA Peru and Panamericana TV, allied to help the most vulnerable families in the country, while respecting the strict measures of social isolation established by the Government.

With this clear objective, the necessary processes were defined and executed to identify 3,524 families of extreme poverty who had not received any type of government aid. Families around the country in departments like: Ucayali, Loreto, Amazonas, San Martín, Cusco, Cajamarca, Arequipa, Tacna, Puno and Lima, came to the campaign “We are together against COVID-19“, between April 6 and June 23.

Each family was given S / 100 in cash and a nutrition manual, which described the products in the 17 kg emergency food basket that could be purchased with the money provided. The baskets had the appropriate combination of foods to ensure the minimum number of kilocalories necessary in the daily diet and to prevent contagion, according to the United Nations guidelines.

We express our sincere gratitude to the people who have generously contributed throughout the campaign. Additionally, we thank our strategic allies, ADRA, and Panamericana TV, who have helped us develop various humanitarian aid campaigns throughout the past four years.

We admire women from all over the country who have taught us lessons of resilience and courage. Wiese Foundation feels privileged to have the opportunity to approach each of them and provide support in difficult times, because “We are together.”
